Here goes my third last bottle.. Lovely dark gold color, very sweet; no fruit. Very nice; maybe not as deep and complex as other sauternes, but e very easy drink. Excellent moment. Still no signs of getting too old. I will not wait too long with the remaining two bottles, though. Don't think it gets better. Opened yesterday, got a notch better after a day.

It is more amber colored than other vintages and about the same as Rieussec's 1st. Drinks nicely. No signs of being too old, though seems to approach its climax sometime soon. I will drink enjoyably the remaining 4 bottles not too late. Bought at $30 in a "special offer" here in Switzerland (normally 40 buck). I find this wine better than other commentators here, though. Thing that might also be attributable to rather unknown extent due to paid price and the fact it's from Rieussec.. IMHO not much short of their 1st wine, though (and I drank that one last week).. 88P. out-of-bottle (rating 2 Pts down because of valuations here). "Drink alongside" De Malle and Guiraud 2006 will follow shortly, also I will report of the results of a blind drinkalongside of my girlfriend... We'll C...
Edit 18.2.14: My girlfriend didn't like it too much, though at second sip she rated it up. Right now I'm again drinking it alongside de Malle and Guiraud of the same vintage. Rating confirmed, 88P, drinkdate reduced to 2015 (but it's definitely not descending yet; might be right there, however - drink if you got in cellar and like preclimax Sauternes).
Maybe someone here can explain the difference between Cosse and Carmes?

From 375, my last bottle, about 10 months since my previous bottle. Color is deep golden with a slight orange tint; nose is intense spice, baking spice, slightly low on fruit character; palate is full bodied, thick, simple, sweet, flavor disappears by midpalate, balanced acidity (not cloying); finish is short. Still very good value for $6, but hasn't improved with age. The concentration has been reduced, less fruit, and not much complexity to replace the loss of fresh fruit. Drink up soon, but still enjoyable now. 85
