Poured off a glass and waited an hour. More complexity than a couple of years ago. Starting the drinking window. After 4 hours, became more refined and simple.

Drank along with a Wind Gap 08 Woodruff, double-blind to most of the group except me. The Big Basin was more immediately likable, offering nicely integrated earthy red berries with black cherry and caramel around the edges, smells sweeter than it finishes, very good but not especially complex or elegant at this point in time. I get the comparison that was made to RRV fruit but think this is more substantial than most, and in the early part of its prime drinking window.

Juicy fruit. Really opened up after 3 hours- finish improved at throughout. Few more years sounds good to me. Very nice.
