Very purple with some cherry and red berry forward. Mid palate very little acid or tannin to help balance. The finish was short. All in all, not a favorite wine even at the price.

PnP. Vibrant purple scarlet from core to rim deep but not saturated. Earthy herbal cherry and raspberry aroma with a touch of tobacco (cab franc influence). Medium weight with very soft ripe cherry tannin. Very plush ripe cherry black cherry flavors with a lingering herbal note. Weak mid palate, but not bad for the price and very quaffable.

Santa Barbara Trip - July 2011; 7/1/2011-7/6/2011: Tasted at the tasting room in SB. A beaujolais noveau style wine that reveals blue fruits & tea on the nose. Fizzy on the palate that doesnt come across as that "serious". Spices and tannins linger on this interesting wine.

I had high hopes, as I love the Happy Canyon area, but this wine was a disappointment. I found a lot of tobacco and leather on the palate, with no bright fruit. I think it needed more acid and tannin. There was also a little fizziness up front, which subsided over the course of an hour. Unfortunately, not a buy again.
