  • Beautiful rose petal, apricot and underwood smell, happy light fruit and a medium finish on the palate, but not very powerful and quite short lived.

  • This was my second bottle, having opened the first in Oct 2009. The first bottle had been disappointing (I suspected still 'bottle shocked' from journey to HK), so was nervous about this one. Well, it was worth the wait! This was in as good a condition as it could be, and surprised all eight of us, given how 1972 is not a highly regarded vintage. This wine was drunk alongside 1986 Rousseau Clos St Jacques and 1991 DRC Echezeaux, and while very different, held its own well. Ruby core with only a slight touch of amber on the otherwise clear rim. A tickly and floral nose with earthy scents, that was more typical of a good 1972 than a Musigny. A complex mouthful of earthy aromas and fruit and cocoa shavings. Very well balanced. Medium to long finish. Lastest a full 45 minutes in the glass. Bravo!

  • This wine was delicious. Still very sturdy and plenty of fruit. Full bodied not dry at all. Was consumed at a dinner where wines were juried before you were allowed to bring them for dinner, brought this along with 64 Clos Vougeot of Remoissenet's Seigneurie de Posanges.
This wine had plenty of muscle, but still elegant. Still have one bottle left in my cellar. No hurry on this one.

  • Grand Cru Burgundy Dinner (Troquet, Boston): We all expected more from this wine, especially with the rumor that it had been sourced from de Vogue juice back in 72. Nothing much left though, if there ever were. Highly acidic with sour cherry flavors, almost like a sweet tart candy. Obvioulsly giving way to brett and bricking with not much left to show. Perhaps we were a decade too late for this one.
