Not long after our last bottle but this one seems just a little different from the last. Good nose when opened. A couple of hours later, the palate shows darker fruit - more damsons and plums than before. Cedar notes, still, and also some slightly more savoury character. Excellent, especially with a roast sirloin joint (on the bone) and afterwards.

Sorry to add another note soon after my last but I just wanted to emphasise how consistent and good this wine is. Opened 3h early and it had all the excellent, positive qualities I described earlier (from nose to tail). The cedar notes seemed more evident this time. No need to wait but I am sure it will still reward further cellaring. A great buy when young and well worth storing patiently. Unless you have unlimited funds, wines like this make it unnecessary to spend many times more on classed growths, in my opinion. If you have more cash at your disposal, do carry on buying more famous wines and enjoy your good fortune.

A couple of hours after opening, this was still drinking beautifully. Full of gorgeous dark cherry fruit but with developing spice and complexity and showing great finesse. Nothing else to add to my last note, really. This was great value en primeur and is still giving great pleasure. A very good vintage. The wine still has an impressive future.
