PnP. Smells like rich fig, plum, charcoal/ grilled vegetables, unsweetened chocolate, earth, and pine forest. On the palate, nice balance between rich dark fruit, assertive but smooth tannins, and good acidity. Medium length finish, with earth and woodsy pine needle notes along with lingering dried fig and plum skin. Good depth. Characterful and enjoyable wine.
Day 2: Similar but more cohesive and smooth; drinking well. Nice piney freshness. Went surprisingly well with teriyaki smoked salmon.

A blend of 70% Aragonez (aka Tempranillo), 20% Trincadeira and 10% Alicante Bouschet aged 6 months in older French oak barrels. Hints of plum, red peppers, spice and well integrated toasted oak. The palate is packed with ripe vibrant plums, black cherries and earthy complexity. It is big (14.5% abv) and intense on the palate with great texture, bright natural acidity and well balanced This is somewhat reminiscent of Spanish Ribera del Duero but well below RDD prices. $15 US Retail.

(Paulo Laureano Singularis VRA) 80% Aragonês, 20% Trincadeira. A big, full, complex wine with rounded Bing cherry flavors, layered textures, and well-balanced tannins. Drinkable now, but will age. The Plains of Alentejo

Bright cherry with a bit of spice (red pepper flake) in the finish. Exceptionally well balanced. Drink now.
