Lovely now. Fresh and balanced, not heavy. Plenty fruit left, some complexity, nice bouquet. Dark berries, tobacco, leather, mocca. Easily recognized as right bank. @peak?

Decanted 30 minutes before service - enough sediment at the end that using a filter was a good idea. In the glass, clear, dark crimson/maroon. On the nose, reticent, with currants and plums at the forefront, and the faintest hint of mint in the background. On the palate, still structured and somewhat primary, but the tannins are letting some softness through, along with more fruit than I would have expected (not that you'll mistake this for a Cali wine in any case). Other than that faint hint of mint on the nose, no other signs of aging just yet. With hindsight, right about now is when I should have opened the first bottle of this case, not the seventh. Live and learn.

(Château Corbin St. Émilion Grand Cru) Dark red violet color; appealing, tart cherry, ripe raspberry, subtle oak spice nose; tasty, poised, elegant, baked berry, blackberry syrup palate with suave, sweet tannins; medium-plus finish (80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc; 14% alcohol; 3.77 pH; 1.7 grams RS; ready now and should go 8-10 years)

Very tertiary, in need of a dish to be able to appreciate it. This short longevity is a bit disappointing for a St. Emilion.
