My last bottle Dec 2018, decanted clear, huge fruit wafted up during decanting, in glass graham cracker dusty nose over dark tarry fruit, clean cherry tobacco flavors, and smooth finish. Consistent, if not better, than previous bottles. Rated in other review here.

PnP- Initial menthol/mint/eucalyptus nose, big fruit, and vanilla. After an hour, the the menthol note faded a bit and we were left with a gamey, cured meat, and red fruit nose. Taste is big red fruit, full-bodied with an almost syrupy texture. Other flavors/notes of dried figs and candied orange peel. Weird- but strangely satisfying.
I'd call this a hedonist's food wine.

Had in June 2010 tasting and was best of "California big alternative reds" theme; 1st bottle was really good in July 10, so bought 3 more; spicy, meaty and almost sweet there is so much ripe fruit and berry, with moderate tannins; 2nd to last Apr 2016, decanted, still huge dark fruit and menthol nose, consistent flavors, tannins mild, slight acidic finish, next day more balanced and still huge, could have lasted a 3rd day. Glad I have one left. 91-92

Third and last bottle. Garnet and ruby edges with medium viscosity in the glass. Raspberry and nail polish on the nose. Secondary earth and minerality. Medium body with raspberry, slate stone and cherry on the palate. Secondary earth and spice. Dense fruit and smooth tannin are showing well now. Medium finish.
