  Gold straw yellow in color. Nice nose of steel, crushed stones, peach and a hint of citrus. Shines on the palate. Steel, minerals, earthy and light citrus. Great balance and very long intense finish. Enjoyed very much by my 4 wine buddies. Not a hint of premox. A delicious wine.

  Surprisingly outstanding!! Been disappointed w/ Louis Latour wines over the past 5 years and particularly the Corton Charlamagnes which I used to enjoy in my early wine drinking days. Brought the above wine from my cellar to BYOB and was not expecting much. Medium/dark straw yellow. Steel, stones and some peach on the nose. Delicious intense palate dominated by balanced non-fruit flavors: Steel, chalk and crushed stones. Nice acidity and finish. Brought home what was left in the bottle for a glass the following evening. Wine turned skunky and deeper yellow. Down the drain.

  I typically enjoy Folatieres, from a variety of producers, and this is no exception. Oak and fruit combine on the nose in an unusual way, almost suggestive of a mild cheese. On the palate, this is entering its prime. Rather lush fruit with a tinge of minerality and oak. In general, the mouthfeel trends towards creamy, with some acidity that gives it a lift. I think this can continue to improve for at least 5 years if properly stored and no premox (this bottle shows no signs).

  Dinner in Reno (Reno, NV): Yellow rim, dark color. On the nose wave after wave of mineral aromas... floral aromas, apple fruit, and very slight spice. On the palate the wine is dry with firm acidity, lovely midpalate weight and a long, subtle finish. Great balance between moderate ripeness of fruit and moderate weight with firm acidity... incrediblely subtle and delicate delivery of very complex aromas and flavors, very persistent on the finish. An easily outstanding, bordering on extraordinary for a premier cru, wune that lacks very little (it could have much punch of penetration of its flavors if being picky) and if you're looking for subtle delivery of complexity in a mineral driven wine this is damn near perfect.
