  Old world cab true to the varietal. This '01 vintage just appeared at a wine shop I visit so I thought it might be an interesting "try" for the money. Nice balance of waning fruit, tannins and acid, not a wine for anything but present enjoyment. I've had pricier Cali cabs from older vintages that didn't do the grape as much justice as this Italian wine did. Don't let the lackluster label or wrong bottle style fool you into thinking the winery doesn't have a clue, for the wine speaks for itself.
