  level upper shoulder, considering age not surprisingly the cork was a challenge to remove intact, quite brown colour reflecting its age, fine, ethereal nose, still with fruit, lovely aged complexity and finesse, at 40 years and considering the older classic Rioja style palate is relatively light now but with real intensity still and excellent balance and long aftertaste, if you know and like the characteristics of old wines then this is a treat, lovely old lady still alive and aging gracefully
