  • Not sure what happened to the bottle, but it smelled like a pickle sandwich, even after letting it breath for 90 minutes. The palate was soft, alcoholic, and lacking any real fruit, acid or minerality. My supplier kindly exchanged it for something else.

  • At first, the notes of oxidation were overpowering, but with a good hour in the glass they faded into the background allowing notes of powdered wet granite, fig newton, pears in syrup, honeysuckle, under-ripe apple, marzipan, layer after layer of unctuous, viscous fruits and flowers, constantly evolving. Rich and broad on the palate, with stone fruits, minerals, and echoes of all the aromas and more. The finish is an entire quarry of crushed rocks and lemon custard which goes on and on. Very cool stuff - a gift from a customer.

  • Back to lovely. Tropical fruit, orange zest, molasses. Rounded palate, yet decent acidity. Medium-long finish.

  • Luscious rounded fruit yet good acidity on the palate again, but somehow not as exciting as last time. Paired with grilled chicken w/rosemary. Possibly it was the first course (spicy borscht) and its pairing (Savoie Chignin) that was the wrong antecedent for this wine. HMR, who skipped the first wine, thought it lovely.

  • Not sure if there was something wrong with my wine chiller that affected my whites, but I opened this to replace a very dissapointing wine I opened earlier, unfortunately this didn't really seem much better. I barely drank it, and left most of it to my wife but for a $30 bottle this should have been much more enjoyable than what it was. Sorry to bring the overall rating down, but based on the 100 point scale here, I'm actually being generous with an 85.
