the nose is very odd at first, and i think it's reduction, but i'm not sure. there's also a lot of carbon dioxide that needs to work its way out. the aromas on day 1 are very brown and soil driven, with hints of grapefruit pith, but it's mostly about this dark brown soil. day two there is better balance to the aromatic and flavor profiles, and it is tasty wine, but it is somewhat lacking in midpalate concentration and overall just isn't very inspiring. good wine, but i fell like there are better under $20 gruner veltiners out there from 2009.

From memory. Light and bright. Tart acidity with solid fruit. Definitely a good value and would drink again without hesitation.
