DAY 1 Served the Sorbo with the Vinloq System 👃Red + dark fruit with spicy oak notes, tobacco & stewed fruit 👅Drinking well. Powdery dark chocolate & blueberries. The tannins are soft
The remaining wine was "Slow Decanted" in my refrigerator
DAY 11 👃👅Similar notes to day 1. The round profile & silky texture make this very enjoyable. Soft tannins & balancing acidity are also included. Cherry, blueberry, chocolate & tobacco + spice & lightly stewed fruit. So easy to drink👍
I don't see any reason to wait longer on this 07. The tannins are primetime and there is plenty of complexity and interesting flavors right now. Drink away!🍷🍷

(Fontodi Chianti Classico Riserva Vigna del Sorbo) Group's #4 (my #4) – 67 pts.; 3, 1, 1, 0 - very dark red violet color; deep berry, ripe black fruit, tart black raspberry nose; mature, tart black cherry, tart black raspberry, tangy, tart black fig palate; medium-plus finish
(Vigna del Sorbo) Flaccianello et al Dear Friends, In classic retailer speak, I'm about to tell you the 2007 vintage (at the high end) is as good or better at Fontodi than the 2006. Considering the 2006’s were among the highest rated wines in all of Italy last year (including for the 2006 Flaccianello and for the 2006 Vigna del Sorbo), that statement sounds a bit tenuous and contrived. It isn’t. I should let Giovanni Manetti (the owner of Fontodi) do the talking for me but he prefers to do the signing. He’s so sure of 2007’s prowess, he’s agreed to sign and personalize large format bottles of 2007 Flaccianello expressly for you – that’s downright unheard of in the wine trade. In other words, he’s going to take the time to personalize each 3.0lt bottle with a note to you on the label – whether you’re Mr. Smith, Mr. Harper, Ms. Jones, etc, you will get a personal note from Giovanni (with your name) thanking you for your patronage. In truth, this is a thank you for the support we’ve (you’ve) given Fontodi over the years. There’s no catch, no gimmick, no ulterior motive – he just wants to do something special that will be remembered and appreciated by our audience. He is not extending this offer to anyone else. So, if your own unique and giant 3.0lt bottle of Flaccianello sounds appealing, please let us know at your earliest convenience. I cannot publish the price (as per Giovanni’s request, but we have special pricing for one day on all three wines below) - you can email Niki and she will give you the price list ( niki@garagistewine.com ). The only catch from our end is that Giovanni is doing all the signatures/notes this weekend so this offer has to be confirmed by tomorrow night (in other words, we need to know if you would like any of the below by tomorrow afternoon at the latest). VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEDED as a one-off opportunity to acquire a personalized centerpiece for your cellar or collection: 2007 Fontodi Flaccianello della Pieve 3.0lt (signed/personalized) - $ (please email Niki for the price: niki@garagistewine.com ) We also have... 2007 Fontodi Flaccianello della Pieve (750ml) (NOT signed) - $ (please email Niki for the price) ...and... 2007 Fontodi Vigna del Sorbo (750ml) (NOT signed) - $ (please email Niki for the price) To request prices and/or to order any of the above: niki@garagistewine.com All are set to depart from Panzano – all will arrive in the late Spring/early Summer (please check OARS for local pick up after July 1st). All will ship during the Fall shipping season. Out of state orders will be held for free under ideal storage conditions (56 degrees/70%humidity) until shipping is possible. Locals may pick up at their leisure. For current local pick up and arrival/ship information, please see your OARS link below (at the bottom of this offer) - don’t know how to access your OARS? Heat damaged which is frustrating given how it’s been cared for.

Still going strong, but slightly over the top. Mature fruit, integrated oak, and resolved tannins. But not as vibrant as it was 10 years ago.
