Slow oxed for 2 hours the decanted for 20 minutes. Aromas of plum, iron, blackberry and earth. Flavors of iron, plum, sour cherry and linzer torte. Ends with a blackberry and iron finish of 20-25 seconds. Still some tannins on this and this is definitely not fading although I'm not sure this will improve. Wish I had another bottle to put that to the test. The Cantelys is true to the Smith Haut Lafitte style and is a great value in comparison. Would love to try to white.

This wine has faded a bit from several years ago. Garnet color with brownish edges. It has lost some of its fruit, leaving a tannin dominated wine but with some cedar notes. Past its prime, at least for this bottle. Drink up. Originally gave this an 89 in 2013.

Tobacco, earth and hint of fruits. Good acidity and hint of bitterness. Really good food wine. Time to drink up. 89-90.
