  • This has burst into life in the last 6 months, and is superlative. For myself, Gloria consistently outdrinks many Growth estates, and deserves the recognition. The nose is wonderful, deeply aromatic, and on its own would warrant another point or two. That said, it still performs excellently on the palate and finish, but the latter is on the shorter side. The other heartening aspect of the bottle, is that it is acting as a marker for the 2009 vintage in general. The vintage has frustrated me to date, and beginning to despair if it will come round at a relatively early age, but this gives me real hope that the heavy hitters will be beginning to hit their drinking window in the near future.

  • Definitely an older wine. Still good, but showing its age. Not sure this can really get better.

  • Fourth of twelve from an OWC purchased at retail. This is on an upward swing, showing lots of softening but still primary blackberries and cassis and very ripe, dusty tannins. The whole thing had a very silky mouthfeel despite the medium-plus acidity. Excellent balance. I’m with Jane Anson on the score on this one. This is a great wine that is getting to be a lot of fun now. Next stop tertiary land. But not too fast. Let’s enjoy this phase for a bit. 13.5% ABV (great/****/17.5/95)

  • Medium ruby appearence.

Evolved and pronounced nose of black fruits (blackberry, blue berry), cassis and some nice spice and vanilla notes.

Medium to medium plus in body with plenty of structure remaining at age 14 plus.

Drink now, but this style seems to last for ages in a cold cellar. Not sure it will improve though.....

  • Ripe red fruits dominated, a little bit rusty in flavour, and recall me sociando mallet. This should be a good year but that little bit of rusty makes it less approachable imo.
