Wines of Washington State (Fort Collins): Berry, cherry, spice palate. Ugh, 11th wine of the night and my notes all suck. Too many! This had too much oak but also probably showed poorly next to a lineup of big Cab/Syrahs from Washington.

Excellent! 100% Syrah. Luscious dark berry nose, beautiful bouquet. Palate shows blackberries, cherries, with gentle spices and oak. Elegant – very nicely balanced. Smooth medium-long finish. Great QPR. Should pair beautifully with lamb. Highly recommended!

Guessing this one was too old - it tasted of nothing but prune and other dried fruits. Down the drain.
