Mid+ mahogany. A quiet nose with hints of ripe fruit, dried earth and liquorice. Slowly reveals more blackcurrant. A soft palate entry, with rich, fleshy cabernet elements of traditional Napa yet with blackberry, spices and pepper notes suggesting Syrah (of which there is a portion). Full-bodied, polished and ambitious with a well-integrated but generous alcohol. The finish, whilst long, yields to a sweet, somewhat syrupy texture like prune juice and damson jam. Yet this is impressive for 19 years old.

Solid fruit forward Napa cab. Great nose that also revealed leather & earth. Taste didn't quite match quality of the nose but still nice. For a 2002 I was surprised by the firmness of the tannins and the complete lack of initial funk upon opening.

I had opened this bottle 5 days prior, and it tasted a bit bitter, chalky, and tannic. I drank half, vacu-vin'd it, and put it in the frig. Tonight, it was soft, supple, and fruity (think perfect cherries...not too sweet not too tart), with a satisfying finish. Too bad it was the last bottle of a case.

A very smooth wine with nice body and enough fruit to make it very tasty. Not a lot of tannins, but enough to still give it that Cabernet feel.

well-balanced, fairly soft, good fruit, nice body, a refined California blended red. Still another 2-3 yrs on these.
