  Slow ox 30 min. Black cherry, cigar box and lead pencil on the nose. The wine is refined and sophisticated, showing ripe but not roasted black cherry fruit. There is a level of glycerine and alcohol here that is a bit high for my taste. Very concentrated and youthful. Let’s see where it goes from here.

  Kleur: Diep opaak donkerrood. Aroma / bouquet: Stoere, robuuste powerwijn met vooral donkere en gebrande accenten als mokka, tabak, bittere chocola, gedroogde pruimen en dadels, nougat. Smaak / Afdronk: Dikke, volle powerwijn. Eten en drinken tegelijkertijd, dik-sappig, boordevol zacht-fluwelige tannines. Algemeen / potentieel: Inmiddels - na de wijn in 2014 in mijn glas gehad te hebben - mooi gerijpt. Vraag me wel af of deze wijn ooit werkelijk 'tertiair' gaat worden… 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 13 + Smaak / Afdronk: 18 + Algemeen / potentieel: 9 = 95/100
  
  Colour: Deep opaque dark red. Aroma / bouquet: Tough, robust power wine with mainly dark and roasted accents such as mocha, tobacco, bitter chocolate, dried plums and dates, nougat. Taste / Aftertaste: Thick, full power wine. Food and drink at the same time, thick and juicy, packed with soft, velvety tannins. General / potential: Now - after having had the wine in my glass in 2014 - it has matured nicely. I wonder if this wine will ever really become 'tertiary'... 50 + Colour: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 13 + Taste / Aftertaste: 18 + General / potential: 9 = 95/100

  A wine with all the goods to be great. That said there is a tannic backbone that restrains its greatness. Either you need to wait 10 years for this to come around or the wine is not a great wine. Decanted 6 hours and drank over another 3 and still couldn’t undue the tannins.

  Decanted briefly. Showing beautifully with full body, red and black fruits and herbs, still rather youthful.

  I still believe this wine was slightly corked. Had it not been, it was full of fruit and longevity. I will not touch my next one for 10 years.
