brick red, sl orange tinged rim - lovely nose of black cherry fruit with some spicy overtones (cinnamon, anise? maybe) - medium body but great balance and an abundance of sweet pinot noir fruit in the mouth - 15-20 second finish - a great example of a mature RR pinot - one could hope for more complexity in the nose, but this is is what you get from CA and beautiful in its own right

Nose of cinnamon and burnt cherry. Cherry and red licorice with a long finish (30 seconds). A fair amount of heat yet, even after 2 hours of decanting. Hints of vanilla on the finish.

Johnny brought this amazing Pinot out to dinner at Devon with Dana. Let this breathe for a few and it gave off a gorgeous aroma of rose petals, white pepper, some stewed cranberries and strawberry cream. Lots of mineral qualities at the core. Firm on the palate with a long finish. Moderate high complexity, touches of tannin on the back end and the acid isn't too out of control. Absolutely a California Pinot Noir, but crafted with elegance, subtlety and really feminine styling. Loved this Rochioli single vineyard.
