  Started fruity and thick. As it opened, more funky/blue cheese. Finished leathery and tannic with notes of celery.

  At this point in maturation a surprisingly big, extracted and still somewhat hot wine - time has not softened it up much yet. Has a long cellar life left and if drunk now would definitely recommend quite a long decant. A reasonable but not great QPR. Big mouth feel, dark and full bodied with a long aftertaste - I can definitely see why "jammy" has been used in a few of the recent TN's, stylistically definitely a new world warm climate style rather then typical French style wine. Big dark fruit forward nose with flavor profile of oak, blueberry, dark cherry, earth, tar and tobacco. This wine really needs to be paired with grilled meat. This wine is not for many lovers of French Rhone & Languedoc wines even though that is exactly what it is but the Aussie shiraz crowd and the big cab sauv / cab franc crowd will love this. I do recommend this wine with some caution and with the caveat that a long decant or much more age is needed to soften it up a bit.

  Aromas of blackberry, cherry, candy and anise, with alcohol upfront. Has flavors of tobacco, black fruits, hint of prune, tanbark, black pepper with a very long finish. Overall it's a big wine with nice fruit, that is overwhelmed by high, chewy tannins and alcohol, which masks the fruit a bit. Could use some age, and may mellow out with time. Right now it's decent, but unbalanced. Perhaps better with food, especially richer, fattier foods (short rib, etc).
