characteristic yet approachable Bordeaux that drinks beyond its modest ~>$15 price point.
the style reminds me somewhat of classy Napa Cab. Rustic, but not overly Old World.
blackberry, blackcurrant, cassis, cedar, baking chocolate and pencil shavings. oak is well integrated at this point but provides aromas of sweet plum, brown sugar, and vanilla extract.
medium side of full bodied with ample acid though slightly gritty tannins and a short finish keep this from higher praise.
regardless, this is a fantastic value for the region and vintage

For the money this is an excellent everyday wine. It has softened up (less spice and oak) since I last tasted in June 2013. Because of this, I think it is better now. Still a great core of dark fruit.

Was great the other night. Short decant and then back in the bottle as I told my mom she had opened the wrong bottle. An hour or so later this was fantastic. I wanted to chug it. Going to buy more at this price. Fantastic value wine I can drink from a great vintage.

Great QPR. Cedar notes on the nose with some dark fruits. Some complexity. Finish was a bit off at first, but it improved with some time in the glass. Second half of bottle tonight.

Smells of light vanilla pastry. Vanilla, oak, and buttery flavor. Unfortunately, a bit peppery, particularly at the finish.
