A sloppy buttery nose with other oak aromas, followed in the mouth by a wine that is leafy-sour and paper thin.
An awkward attempt that leaves one to wonder if Comte Lafon has decided to go for the big bucks instead of making great wine, which is his previous, untarnished, trademark. But maybe that's the reason behind releasing Pouilly-Fuissè AOC under the Californian/Oregon label?

2006 Etienne Sauzet Puligny Montrachet Premiere Cru Tasting at Red Slate (Red Slate, Portland, Oregon): Bright pears and honey show on the nose. It's clean and crisp on the palate, with pear and green apple flavors showing the most. There is a light floral note, and a solid grip of acidity through the finish.
