  • Luncheon claret...but not in a good way. Dusty, restrained Bordeaux nose showing a faint memory of blackcurrant and liquorice. This almost smells corked but i dont think it is. The palate is lean, savoury (bitter?) woody and dry. Bad value in Bordeaux has two faces; millionaire grand crus are one - this thin, sour, overpriced, devoid of pleasure, 'everyday' claret is a classic example of the other. 75 points
