Not a great deal to say here. Watery but not unpleasantly so, with fairly classic medoc flavours in somewhat limited proportions and a total lack of tannin. Distinctly average. 86

On opening this is tannic, bitter, stalky, very drying and a bit extracted/thin. However it opens up gradually over an hour or two in decanter. With cheddar cheese. Now sweeter, more noticeable acidity, better body (although this has an extracted bitterness to it). But for the price, this is decent young petit chateu claret, in the very classic 2008 mould. A bit hard work though. It reminds me of gin for some reason, it has that drying, herby, bitter quinine type thing going on, especially on the aftertaste. Actually, I think this is just too bitter for me. With 2 hours air and some salt crisps, it is more palatable but still very hard work. 24 hours later and this is hugely improved. Far more drinkable now:tannins, bitterness and green stalky notes have all receded and quite a classic claret, albeit lacking some fruit (vintage I guess?). Great with food: here served with chicken in red wine sauce. Good value.

Deep garnet color. Bright berries on the nose. Rich, some leather. As of time of tasting needs some time to develop in the bottle, but will be excellent in 3-5 years.

Needed 30 minutes to open up. Slightly thin, but OK. Better with food.

Good value drinkable claret, don't expect complexity at this price but this does the job and has enough depth to be enjoyable.
