Color: Purple to Dark Ruby Nose: Dark berry, plums, earthy after first opening then subsided, hints leather, tobacco, mocha/chocolate and fois gras Palate: Dark berries, red fruits, full bodied and chewy. Finish: Chewy, very velvety smooth tannins and with long finish that keeps giving after swallowing Decanting: We opened sampled and at let sit for 3 hours while we went to dinner. Came back drank some more and corked it. Drank the rest the next and it really held up well, great the next day. Thoughts: Most people don’t care for Petit Verdot by itself because of its power, but this wine has been done exceptionally well. It has a great nose, mouth and finish and keeps us wanting more. This is a wine we will keep in our cellar.

Big and inky. Dusty blueberries, vanilla, sandelwood, with minimal tannins anda long finish.

Pre-Hospice du Rhone 2012; 4/25/2012-4/27/2012 (Paso Robles, CA): Slightly translucent dark garnet in the glass. Spicy on the nose with a touch of wood and port-like nuance. Dark fruit. This bottle seems like it might have been open awhile. ok.
