  • High acidity, very zippy lemon attack on the palate. Definitely lemony. Some slight RS to offset the acidity, and other green fruit / grass notes. Not a aromatic as an off-dry Kabinett might be, or an Alsacien. Stll tastes of Riesling though, and some phenolics coming through, adn the finish is long, mouth-wateringly acidic in a good way: you might call it minerally.
No harshness, malic or any other nasty green kinds of bad tastes on the finish either, so it's well-made. It's not as harsh as some of the dry warmer-weather American Rieslings, and it's a very good drink, just at the dry end. Good value for about a tenner. Will pair with a lot fo things. I even had it with roast pork and potatoes!

  • Some notes of petroleum, less citrus and minerals than expected. Nice, but actually found the cheaper 3 more to my taste

  • A fine nose of petrol, sweet tropicals and gooseberries.
To taste, slightly off dry, with a very subtle hint of RS, yet very tart malic gooseberry and grapefruit zing to the attack. Petrol notes on the palate, and good acid, with some hints of the classical Riesling tropical notes there underneath and rising, with mineral swooping in strong and mouthwateringly on the mid-late palate. To me, a hint of fine, delicate, vaguely sweet, floral skin tannin on the finish too, amazingly!

IT's quite a lot like a Sauvignon Blanc, but with an extra layer of Rieslingness underneath, giving some weight and a mineral ending. Not a purists' Riesling, perhaps, but it beats most SBs, and shows off some classic Riesling notes too.

Although not the most fruity or complex Riesling I've ever tasted, (see Jana Rieslings) but it's not a straightforward quaffer either. On the bolder end of the spectrum, and for well under a tenner, and with nice modest alcohol at 11% it's a winner!
