This is a blend of Schioppettino (Ribolla Nera), Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Ruby, with a hint of garnet on the rim. Medium plus in intensity. The nose is clean, with medium plus intensity, with floral and sweet spice aromas accenting the underlying black and red fruit. The nose is developing. The palate is dry, the acidity is medium plus. The alcohol is medium at 13%. The tannins and body are also medium, resulting in a wine that is lithe and lively. The flavor intensity is medium plus and the finish is likewise medium plus, with layers of black and red fruit, black pepper and spice. This wine is drinking beautifully now, and still appears to be quite youthful. It is likely to have an extended peak drinking window of at least three more years.

Nose: fried almonds, licorice, red and black berries, leather and tobacco. Taste: fresh and at the same time deep. Redcurrant, fried almonds, figs, menthol. Quite complex and profound. Tanins and acidity well-balanced. Pleasant medium-long aftertaste.

Interesting bottle. Very strong notes of tobacco, leather, and currant. It was enjoyable, though I'm not sure that it's a wine that I would frequent.
