  From 75cl. Ripe Galia melon scent and texture on entry; definitely 6 months past its peak, a riesling-like fruitiness and some acidity remain. In 6 months this will be dead as ditchwater. 84P and falling.

Medium plus body, medium acidity, full mouthfeel, while not overpowering, the alcohol is definitely noticeable. More pear and honey on the palate, with mineral, peach, and a little fresh cut grass. Short mineral finish.

But the wine looked OK, a pale straw/yellow with a flash of green. The nose is slightly developing, very steely, with wet stone & shellfish aromas.   A superficial vintage of a wine I normally enjoy much more. The superlative ratings in the Spanish wine press (98P Proensa; 93P Penin) seem completely bananarama to me on the basis of this bottle. Odd iodine - sticking plaster smell, watery entry with a touch of ripe canteloupe melon, slight CO2 action, long but not entirely pleasant melony finish. 85P
