  Still has good punch and vibrancy, as befitting the higher alcohol content. Somewhat subdued nose to me. Smooth initial approach and mouthfeel - surprising given massive tannins in youth. Nice juicy shiraz, but toned down from over 14 years ageing. Long finish of spice, liquorice and black cherry. Very nice wine.
  
  Drink now over over next few years. This may have another decade left in it if you are game.

  1st taste when I was impatient and didn't decant this little beast was a bit meh... blind tannins, loose fruit, meh

  On the first night just oaky and astringent..not at all pleasant. Second night I found some fruit...mulled berry....and whilst more approachable, the wine lacked any complexity. A major disappointment.
