Some wines at Thierry's place (June 2019): Andrew served this wine and the Bachelet side-by-side as a pair, double blind. The Clair did not have any obvious Gevrey character, I could detect. I picked it as a Vosne. A bouquet of black and red cherries, minerals, earth and smoky bonfire, with a hint of wild blackberry and bramble. In the mouth, quite approachable. I did pick the wine as a 2008, due to its signature 2008 acid structure. Focussed with fine grained tannins. Open and charming. Not at all bony or over-acidic. To drink over the next 10 years, I thought.

Dark, clear garnet. Very promising nose of black cherry, smoke, spice, and vanilla. Full palate of black cherry, plum, spice, licorice, and a small amount of stemmy herbs. OK finish. Pleasant acidity. The palate doesn't live up to the nose. This wine has been much better in other vintages.

2 hours upon opening into Riedel Pinot Noir glass (“No” into “Fruit” day): Medium ruby to the eyes.
A complete but not exactly the finest of style. Good length too but not much finesse?
92 points.

Very good Burgundy, dense, complex, but still I expected more from the label and the price tag.
