This is an amazing Armagnac; one of the best that I have tasted. It resembles a 1955 Sempe that I fell in love with but unfortunately cannot find anymore. This Darroze blend has a strong alcoholic bouquet that can be appreciated from a distance. The color is deep golden red. It has a very broad, intense flavor profile with fruit and oak. I drank it neat, at room temperature and very slowly to appreciate it to its fullest. I have sampled two other Darroze Armagnacs (the Les Grand Assemblages 12 year and the 1971 Chateau de Gaube). though both are enjoyable they do not have the depth of flavor present in the Reserve Special

Orange/brown. Nose of caramel and wood, a little sweet. Alcohol and wood up front. Sweet, rich caramel on finish. Excellent.
