Black currant and cassis with good+ concentration. Nicely mature combination of bold fruit, spice hints and earthiness. Good depth with moderately nuanced hints unfolding towards finish. Drinking well for 2+ hours until finished.

Black currant and liqueur aromas with some spice hints. Similar flavors, nicely balanced, moderate weight, lightening toward the finish. Nothing particularly complex, but very good with dinner. Best when first opened, this tarted fading and shortening after open one hour.

(ROSSO dell'Abazia Serafini Vidotto) Abazia #2 Dear Friends, More insane pricing on Serafini & Vidotto's Rosso dell'Abazia. When we offered the 2000 vintage of this wine last week, I received no less than 20 emails from Italian retailers trying to buy the wine back from us. The wine is so revered in Italy that even with international UPS shipping (at $15/bottle), they could still make a significant profit. We had requests for the wine from at least 10 different countries and word spreads very quickly on the internet - I even had an email from Brazzaville, The Congo (certainly the most bizarre order destination I can remember). Here we go again... To sum this up, the 2002 version is another Gambero Rosso Tre Bicchieri and we have it at half price. Considering the demand we had last week, that's all I will say. This lot has perfect provenance, directly from the source: NO SALES TO ITALY (we cannot ship wine back to Italy): 2002 Serafini & Vidotto Il Rosso dell'Abazia (GR3) Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Italy6550

Black currant and plum, nicely rich, but clearly mature. Slightly past its peak, but still drin king well enough.
