On the list at R’evolution in NOLA at $325. Short decant , then paired with snapping turtle soup and hard boiled quail eggs. Paired well, both funky, earthy, and rich . Mashing the eggs into the soup highlighted the apricot skin and the aged yolkiness of the viognier’s flavor profile. Held up through 2 hours , again showed nicely w crisped sablefish, yellow rice, pickled onions and fennel fronds. Should provide great pleasure with careful pairings for another 5-7 years; sherried notes will overun acidity soon after.

Golden in colour - and taste!. Rich multi layered attack. Melon, peach apricot and pear. Hints of vanilla and caramel. Good acidity. Long and complex, will drink well for many years.

Still going strong, this is really a both rich and complex drink. Tasting blind, b said something in between white Hermitage and Condrieu, not a bad statement, this is a serious rather than just playful Condrieu, and it has all the stuffings for a long life, exotic and mineral at the same time. #Struktur

This striking and individual wine has a pale green gold colour and a pure nose of apricot, poached pear, quince and touches of lemon and ginger. The palate is very rich and round yet there is grip and drive that stops it become cloying. The finish is long with a mineral touch. Delicious in a very distinctive way.

La Tablee: Celebratory Dinner (BYO) (26 Bridge Street, Brooklyn): This wine was a revelation for me today and with a few more years it's really just amazing. So beautiful and fresh and interesting and yet just packed with flavor. I am quite a fan.
