Over the hill. If you've got one, drink it! The color was brownish brick red. The fruit had faded. The nose had an interesting carmel smell, but aromas in the brown spectrum such as this don't belong in anything but a dessert wine. The dusty red fruit I remember was just that, a memory.

A cheap wine nearing the end of it's prime (if it had one). Clear ruby with a little browning on the edges; nose of green pepper, black pepper, smoke and tar; fairly strong vegetal component; medium bodied with heavy smoke/tar on the palate; tannins largely encorporated with very little acidity; surprisingly long, but not particularly enjoyable finish.
