  Dusky purple fading to rose at the edges. Interesting aromas of fruity shoe polish and pencils. Medium body, nice structure with crisp acid at first and slightly tannic lingering finish. Flavors of strawberry/cherry jam. Very nice QPR; will buy another for near-term drinking, and a 2000 for comparison. (Both on sale at the winery.) B+
