2010 Domainre Dujac Gevrey Chambertin Aux Combottes Premier Cru
Gevrey Chambertin Tasting May 17, 2017. PNP Reddish purple color with browning at rim. Effusive bouquet of red fruit, with earth and tobacco. Medium body, but rich red vibrant fruit producing mid-palate stimulation extending to the back of palate, exquisitely balanced, integrated tannins with spice on a long (30+ second) finish. The wine delivered tremendous intensity without weight. It was terrific, and the wine of the tasting.

PNP. cork wet 1/4th up. color ruby with slight bricking. this one has tannin and acid structure but both are smooth and almost totally integrated. sipping this shows the fruit density which is considerable and pretty fresh for a 19 yo. plenty of life left i think. will wait a bit to try again.

PNP. Cork perfect. Color bricking ruby. Nose dominated by sous bois that frames cherry fruit. The previously dominant reduction is only slightly perceptible tonight. Swishing this shows mostly acid structure with some polish. Finish is light and smooth and has the slightest reductive whang at the end. Really very nice tonight. Glad I waited!

PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Root” day): Pale ruby with some bricking hues.
Smoke, cured meat, bacon fat, soy, dried leaves, animale.
Hints of VA towards finish that does not bother.
The only thing that puts this under 95 points is its slight lack of mid palate concentration but I have no complaints!
94 points.
