Ripe creamy nose of fruit and tamarind. Difficult to pinpoint as Pinot imo. Beautiful texture, balance and flavor. Tamarind and hint of chewable vitamin C on palate. A bit warmer than a burgundy in terms of alcohol but very acceptable for new world. Drinking great now, why wait if this vintage is in the cellar?

this was one of the best PN's i've ever had. i was worried about the age, many of my aged cali PN's are showing signs of oxidation. this did not. it was fresh, gorgeous purity of fruit, but not overdone. i was going to drink with grilled salmon, but my wife and i decided the wine was too good.... so we almost finished the bottle before dinner! nice work, Luc!!

This wine has certainly improved since I last tasted it three years ago. It is not your typical single-note, berry fruit driven Cali pinot. While the red fruits are there, it has more savory, dried fruits - plums, dates, grilled figs. This would have been lovely with the roasted veal tenderloin I had the other night. I hate to use the word "burgundian" but I thought it in my head, and another taster made the same comment aloud. There's a subtle nuanced character and the linearity to which this wine has evolved that suggests it will continue to develop. There's something about this wine that reminds me of Marcassin, which might not be a coincidence as Helen Turley is only a couple degrees of winemaking separated from the Morlets.

Decanted and drank over 90 minutes. Dark Pinot, some oak, wishing a bit more liveliness and acid.
