  • I tried. The Rieslaner wines do have nice expression in some vintages in the hands of fine producers like Muller-Catoir. But this grape in a ripe vintage like 2005 is just too oily and sweet. Nice dark golden color, interesting nose of candied apricot, petrol, sweet orange peel and honey, but the palate is a bit unctuous and undifferentiated.
