  • shared with pat at selkirk manor. i continue to prune the cellar of bottles with past due drink by dates. i selected this bottle to drink while participating in an adam lee zoom meeting devoted to a discussion of recent sta. rita hills vintages. i was first introduced to this producer at a pinot festival held at city winery about ten years ago. i almost passed it up because of the modest exhibit table with no other tasters at the table. since the lines at more well known producers were intolerable, i took advantage of the situation and feel most fortunate to have done so. tonite's bottle offered a wonderful experience, which brought back fond memories of the initial mmoment of discovery, this is probably the second best pinot which i have had coming from this ava and among the top five in my overall experience. the bottle has an impressive wax capsule. this wine was in a perfect state of evolution. well balanced, with all elements in harmony. tannins fully resolved. flavor profile dominated by bright red cherry fruit. medium body and finish. i need to look at more recent vintages.

  • Still tasting great right now !! I agree with all my previous tasting notes of the past two years
Perfect composite cork, easily removed after over a decade in the bottle. Consumed this wine over two days. Deep ruby color with no oxidation and medium clarity. Aromas of pomegranate and cranberry. Flavors of black cherry, raspberry compote, rhubarb, and black tea. This Pinot Noir has a medium to long finish. A balanced and flavorful Pinot Noir from Mount Carmel Vineyard in the Santa Rita Hills. This wine is near peak but may have more years of life left. I have no bottles of this vintage remaining in my cellar. A great winemaking effort from Greg Brewer.

  • Still tasting great right now !! I agree with my tasting note of one year earlier.
This wine ir truly age worthy and it has many more years of life left. Fortunately, I still have two bottles of this vintage remaining to validate my assessment. A great winemaking effort from Greg Brewer.

  • Tasting great right now !! Perfect composite cork after a decade in the bottle. Consumed over two days. As always, this balanced wine showed more fruit on the first day. On day two this wine had softened with increased depth and integrated complexity. Deep ruby color with no oxidation, clarity medium. The acidity of this wine makes it age worthy and it has more years of life left. A great winemaking effort from Greg Brewer.

  • Decanted one hour. Very nice nose of raspberry jam and some earthy notes. The palate has aged well with the oak integrating and the wine having nice balance. The palate is full on open knit ripe pinot fruit, earth and spice. Medium to full bodied with a long finish. This can continue to age and will be interesting to watch.
