  Popped and poured, then drank over two days. This is a vibrant red wine with some minimal fine sediment at the end of the bottle. On the nose, I get herbs, strawberry, black and green olives, and scrub. In the mouth, this is a ripe and plush wine that displays sweeter red fruits. The finish is long and juicy, with a black tea aspect coming through at the end. Overall, I found this to be a classic and enjoyable example of old-vine Grenache. It is certainly rich but not over the top (which is not always the case with 2009 CdP). Drink now or hold 5-7 more years. 91 points.

  Took an hour or so to open up, but when it did, it showed it had just enough life left to it.

  Nice aged C9dP at peak: earthy, plum, prune, pepper, oak, dark fruit, raisin, medium plus body, earthy / fig driven finish.
