A present: this had been forgotten and left in a conservatory for about 5 years and I opened it with trepidation. It was lovely: big punchy blackcurrant on the nose and palate, hits of mint and plum on the palate, Long, still fresh and vibrant and had at least anoter 5 years of maltreatment (not that I would do that to a wine myself) left!

Nice and intense vanilla and plum notes on the nose, on the palate this is relatively jammy - if you like such a style - and acidic, medium-full body. A touch of heat is also evident. Plum flavours continue to a spicy though somewhat uneven finish.

Clear deep garnet core of medium plus intensity out to a ruby edge - youthful in appearance. Clean nose with mint, earth, vanilla and cassis along with some black current leaf of medium intensity. Dry with cassis, mint, oak, plum and herbs on the palate (medium intensity) with medium acid, tannin (soft), full body and medium plus alcohol that is handled well by the fruit. Medium length finish with the sweet oak and fruit continuing. Well made - very drinkable now but has some interest - isn't jammy or over extracted. Drink now and over the next 2-3 years.

A somewhat uneven display from this cooler Australian Cab-Shiraz intro wine. Opens up a bit green and stingy but slowly the flavours come into life with blackcurrant from the Cabernet and the creamy texture of the Shiraz. However, the flavours oddly seem to fade out after a while with no real balance or aftertaste. A bit undecided on this. Maybe too young.
