  • The first night this was rock solid, giving very little except wood. No fruit at all. The second night this had mellowed and tasted of Bordeaux. Still some wood, but not sandalwood. Some red fruits, some cranberry. Overall not very enjoyable on first night, but much better on second.

  • Actually, pleasant not Bordeaux-esque tho as it lacks a lot of complexity.
A right bank wine but Merlot does not dominate the flavor profile tho. Minimal tannins, and smooth to drink it is actually pretty good for $12

  • For $12, this is really quite nice. Dark fruits and tar dominate, with a hint of mint and some heat.

  • I guess you could call this a 2nd day wine. Day one - it opened up tight - even running it thru the vinturi could not coax anything out of the wine besides tannins. Hardly any fruit. Today it's a different story - good balance, fruits have begun showing - berries, vanilla and cocoa from the merlot. While the cab franc hasn't called it a day, it's taken a back seat now making an appearance to give this a pleasing finish. My only concern is the crystals on the cork - past experience tells me that once that happens its better to drink any remaining bottles you have. So cheers.

  • just like the last bottle. Popped & poured, needs air, about an hour. Surprisingly approachable. Not terribly complex but then it's a $12 wine, better than expected. Good dark fruit on the nose with dark fruit and tar on the initial taste. Decent grip on the finish
