Pulled this bottle out of my cellar thoroughly expecting it to be a tired old wine destined for the kitchen drain. What a pleasant surprise- very little brown at the edges, fruit and acidity still there. Paired quite well with pasta and even lasted to then third day under vacuum. Given the obvious ratings inflations since 2003, I awarded it an 88 for longevity.

This was a 2001, by mistake, it had got a lot of fallout and lost almost all of its fruit. Worked well along with roasted lamb. Has to whatch out fore younger vintage i stock.

The heavy acidity I experienced wore off after several hours sitting in a decanter, but still the tannins are as someone else said edgy. Nose is a bit abrasive, cant exactly wrap my finger around the scent. Geez, I just made it sound terrible, it really isnt, just not a bottle I will repurchase.

Mineral and white pepper. this is definately rhone syrah. Has nice black raspberry fruit, smoke and wet stone. A 20 second meaty finish with good acidity and a bit of tannin. This is a nice cdr for $11. Should evolve nicely for a few years.

Nice simple Cotes du rhone. Lots of Cherry pie filling on the front end. Nice, simple drinker alone or with food
