Just popped and poured and it was open for business. Cedar, pepper , mushrooms and dirt in that very rhone way. Wouldn't call it complex but is was really tasty and pure. Made me excited to open the other 2009's I have left.

One of the best beaujolais. Just a classic Fleurie, with a bouquet of flavors led by distinct black pepper notes with a nicely chiseled cherry fruit extract without any excess sweetness or boring beaujolais sweetness. Needed that chilling to define the notes adequately but I Have had very few cru Beaujolais of this quality-- and I judge by both the 1976 and 2009 vintages. This will never approach the complexity of a great Moulin a Vent or even Morgon but in this class it is on top.
