nose was fragrant after about 30 minutes in the decanter, with lovely coconut butter, but the palate was terrible. Lots of wood and some black plums on the nose, also very big and toasty. Later on toasty on the palate, too, as it improved.

A lost in the cellar bottle that wasn't on my inventory list. It was mixed in with all my other Kistler Pinots and I must have missed it when doing my initial CT inventory. Anyway....corked....so disappointing.

I am going to decline to give this one a numerical score. I had it with a vinegar laden chicken dish that probably caused the wine to show at less than its best. Still, even with a less than optimal food pairing, its obvious that is a pleasure bent wine. The group loved it, and while it was my last bottle, there was no doubt that there was more than enough fruit left in the bottle that this would have lasted years more.
