Clear wheat color. Elegant nose of citrus, pineapple. This wine is delicate and full of finesse. Beautiful layers of lemon, grilled pineapple, melon, hint of subtle oak. There is just a glimmer of earthiness beginning to evolve, anticipated given its age. Nice long finish that never turns bitter or sour.

Dinner at La Regolade, Beaune (La Regolade, Beaune): Fairly full gold. Slightly aniseedy nose with something slightly chemically. Not particularly expressive but quite richly textured and long. After an hour it opens up, creamier, spicier and some vanilla. Seems a bit out of kilter though and on it's way out I think. ** on the night, but really I think this is probably oxidising.

I have a hard time understanding a "drinking window" on this wine that ended last year in 2009. Higher echelon white burgundies can go for longer than 11 years, and this bottle proves it. Notes of mild citrus, light melon, honey and vanilla. A touch of terroir is present, revealing its age. There is moderate structure to this wine, nothing that is overpowering. Good acidic balance with a medium finish. QPR may be a little low for this wine, but overall it's still drinking great.

Tasted at a Superbowl wine geek party. Medium yellow-gold. Moderately intense nose showing honeysuckle, vanilla, citrus and floral aromas. Medium-bodied on the palate, with less acidity than I would prefer from a wine of this pedigree. The middle is full and the flavors follow the nose. I did not bring this wine to the party. Had I brought it, I would have been somewhat disappointed, considering the price. Drink now-12/15.
