  • I like this winery -- has lots of rubbery, earthy notes in the nose and leans toward an old world style.

I think they went out of business, and I've seen their wines on the market lately at a price a notch cheaper than they ought to be priced. I think I distributor must have bought out their old stock and is selling it cheap. If you see one in the 20-30 price range it is a worthy buy.

I've had 3 different Rubbisow wines lately, and they've all been definite drink nows.

  • Popped and poured. Nice nose of black currant, cherry, spicy oak, green pepper, tobacco. Fruits repeat on palate with spicy oak and tobacco on the palate. Finishes with crisp acidity and mouth drying tannins. There is definitely a large amount of Cab Franc in the blend, might be misrepresented by Wine Access. Excellent. Drink or hold. OK on value.
