Deep and rich berry and chocolate nose. Dusty blackberry and black cherry, chocolate, walnut, iron, BBQ meats, and pencil shavings off in the distance. Glossy, rich, warm, and slippery palate, but not overdone. There’s a saltiness and sourness to the fruit and acid that keeps it composed and prevents it from becoming a fruit bomb. The tannins are very fine and largely relegated to the background. Drinking well.

Screwcap, 14.5% alc. Strong inky red with a fuchsia hue.
A fog of aroma, with dark cherry, iron ore, gravel, raspberry, chocolate, gum leaf.
Richly fruited yet with a savoury perspective. Oak playing a supportive role. Strong initial impact on the palate before becoming streamlined through to the finish. Wonderful, supple tannin. Disguised power.
Opinion: Balanced and composed Shiraz combining an intriguing mix of rich fruit with savoury, earthen complexity. McLaren Vale Shiraz done well, and fantastic value for money. In a good place now, and showing a lot of interest, with life ahead of it.

Showing some secondary characteristics but still fresh and drinking very nicely. Dark fruits and savoury flavours. Complex nose with hints of dark chocolate and spice.

Beautiful nose of blackberry pastille, brown spices, flowers. Dark berry fruit a touch of mint and milk chocolate. Ferrous soft tannin. Fantastic.
