Off the list. Poured a couple of glasses and decanted the rest. Plum, sweet tobacco, blue fruit, pepper and herb aromas. Softened tannins. Black raspberry, plum and red berry fruit; long finish. Nicely balanced. 92+ for me and for Domino (who is not a fan of franc), high praise, 91.

Delicious. Solid. Right in the drinking window. Fully resolved tannins, rich dark fruit, with just the right amount of tartness to keep it balanced. Whatever subtleties one might detect - bramble, bitter cherries, etc. - they alone are not the point; they support a larger message. This is a big wine, to be enjoyed in large measure, with food that is its equal. Paired excellently with a flank steak with marrow and red wine sauce - the wine and food complimenting each other.
Rated 1 on a scale of -1 to 3.

Needed three hours to open up - before that, I thought it was mildly corked because I'm an idiot. Still one of my favorite wines.

Heavy sediment on shoulder. Tasted Like Bordeaux. Great steakhouse wine.
